KA'AY started with a simple idea: energy does not have to be complicated.

In a world full of products with long ingredient lists, we looked to nature.

Thirsty for life

From the start

We have always had a strong connection to being active, to nature and to adventure. Skiing, surfing, cycling, climbing and long days outside have been part of our lives since we first met in primary school.

Joachim

Someone who has never been afraid to get things going. Backflip school for the boys, top scorer for Heming Boys 10 and a throwing arm with real potential. Still, it was alpine skiing he went all in on, and that took him all the way to the national team and the World Cup.

Christian

Adventurous from a young age, always after the next big thing. Waves, summits and good snow have taken him around the world with a surfboard, skis and climbing gear in tow. He was never much for organised sport, but all the more interested in finding his own way.

A constant companion

On long days yerba mate gradually became a constant companion. It gave us the energy we needed to meet what was in front of us, without a long list of ingredients. Just one simple plant, used in South America for centuries.

KA'AY takes shape

After a while we started thinking that more people should get to feel the same energy and focus that yerba mate gives. Why was something this simple and natural almost unknown in Norway?

We decided to do it ourselves. We spent countless hours understanding yerba mate — how it is grown, harvested and processed — and finding producers who could deliver something we could genuinely stand behind.

So here we are

We do not believe in chasing "bigger and better". We believe in the process, in the intention, in what actually happens while you are doing it.
